This week we're recognizing, Alleghany!

Alleghany has been a member of POI Factory for nearly 13 years!

This week he updated his PA Cemeteries files adding 21 new ones and changing or adding some Also Known As. I'm often intrigued when something relatively stationary, like a cemetery, has multiple names.

Thanks for continuing to keep us up-to-date on the cemetery files!

I answered Angela's question, but thought the general membership might like to know, also. AKA's (Also Known As). Some cemeteries may have 3 or 4 names. Sometimes different churches may own a cemetery at different times. A farm cemetery may go by several names, depending on who is buried there. Communities may call a cemetery by one name, and the church by another. The name of the church may change over the years. These are some of the reason for AKA's in a cemetery.

I use some of your POI's on my GPS's. It is really nice when you pass an old cemetery alongside a country road and all of a sudden the name of the cemetery pops up on the GPS. At that point, the 'I didn't know that' thought runs through your mind. Keep up the good work. It is really appreciated. Enjoy your week out in the pasture.
