Happy Veterans Day to all of my fellow Vets. Thanks to all who have served, whether you served in the Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Army. (And, for the WWII crowd, the Merchant Marines.) We have served a great country; let us never forget the ones who served before us, the ones serving now, and the ones that will serve in the future.
As a fellow veteran, thank you. I just got back from a wonderful Veterans lunch put on by our local hospice group. They had a wonderful program with great speakers and a wonderful choir. 800 veterans from all the branches attended.
Thank you to all the Veterans who have made many sacrifices to keep the USA a free democracy.
“I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and will go for us?’ Then said I, ‘Here am I: send me.’” ( Isaiah 6:8)
Happy Veterans Day to you as well, another fellow vet. Remember those who can't celebrate with us.
U.S. Navy, '62-'66, South China Sea, '64. I'm apparently a lot more shallow than many of you. At 6:00 a.m. I was at Denny's enjoying a free breakfast and at 4:30 p.m. I was at Olive Garden with my wife enjoying a free dinner. Lots of old timers at both places - I felt like I was among my brethren.
I want to thank all the Vets that served before I did and all those Vets that have served after I did and those that are still serving, God bless you all.
