Home

Just got home a couple hours ago. Hot but ended up with two nights of hard rain. People like me to visit if it is hot cause I will bring rain with me.

Longer term forecasts show this trend will come to an abrupt end by the end of the month crying

Hello!

Hello!

Could've Been Worse

No, not the tropical weather event reporting by the media. It's the absolute worst competitive weather forecasting that's ever been aired. I was referring to the storm named Barry, which failed to follow the models while the forecasters were failing to rely on their educations and powers of observation instead of hyping the models that couldn't even agree with each other by the time it finally began moving ashore.

Everyone have a happy and safe week

heat advisory. I caught our evaporator on the central ac ice'd up last Wed. night. Thank goodness someone came on Friday. System is old and microscopic leak, low on freon. Usually I get leaks fixed, but again tech said microscopic over time based how much (little) freon needed. Been blowing 54F out the vents ever since (you hvac peeps will likely point out how meaningless that number is lol)

Old AC's

Those old central air units used to go forever. My former house had a Sears Custom III unit (manufactured by Trane I think) that I installed in the early 70's. It was over 30 years old when I sold the house and still worked perfectly. I only ever had to have refrigerant added one time during that span. It of course used the old R22 refrigerant, and the HVAC guys kept telling me I should replace it as R22 would not be available much longer. I would always just smile and say I would think about it. wink I don't know if the buyers of that house are still using that old AC but it wouldn't surprise me if they are.

yeah my unit is from 1999, and I moved in late 2002, so first use of the AC was mid 2003. Ran flawlessly until mid 2008--a buddy replaced a $14 capacitor for us and nothing until last Wed. night/Thu. morning.

Ditto with refrigerator, decent freezer on bottom purchased late 2002. Fridge warm, freezer cold, late 2017. Evaporator iced up. That time, defrost element ($17 on amazon) did the trick.

When we say they don't make 'em like they used to, it's not nostalgia--it's quality. Cars are the same--imho the best cars were made 2004-2008'ish.

A very fine Tuesday today!

Monday

Just got back from a cross country trip from Memphis to California on Interstate 40. It was a long hot drive both ways. My GPS worked well. for some reason, it did confuse the 405 Freeway north with the Garden Grove Freeway (22) East. Made a few stops on old route 66 going and coming. Everyone have a good safe week.

New Mexico

Perfect weather here in Northern New Mexico this week.

Have a Good Week!!!

Be safe!

Hump Day!!!
