Well ...

.. if I were you I'd ignore that, 4.7 is full of bugs. I'm sticking with 4.6.2 smile

Still with 4.6.2 also

I'm with you and I like the option for opening Google Earth with the map already highlighted instead of exporting and importing it to Google Earth.

BaseCamp-Google Earth Pro

I have not been able to display BaseCamp routes on Google Pro for a couple previous versions.
I tried many of the solutions suggested here, but,I had no success.

Now, I just export the route in BaseCamp as *.kml file and then open the file in Google Earth.

Cumbersome but at least it works.

Thx

But not knowing that I clicked on update it. In hindsight I suppose that if it were so bad that Garmin will put out an updated fix soon. On the other hand I don't use BC that much anyway.

I wouldn't count on that, but you could always revert to 4.6.2 available from http://www.gawisp.com/perry/mapsource/

Just checked

I have 4.7.0. I think I have mine set to update automatically.
What bugs should I look for?

Well ...

1. You can't open Google earth from within BC.
2. Sending maps to a device doesn't work.
3. Printing of maps isn't working correctly.

I'm sure there are more but can't recall them at the mo.

V 4.7.0

Not long ago i reformatted my hard drive Windows 7 and reinstalled. I downloaded the new basecamp not knowing about any problems. Just now i downloaded the older version and removed the new. Installed the older version and tried to open. It told me i had no choice but to download and install the new version or Basecamp would close which it did. Went back to the new version. Guess i could have hacked the registry

I couldn't

I haven't been able to use Google Earth for a while. I use Mapuploader. I don't print maps. So hopefully I will be ok. I export my files to my pc. And, I just saw an old post, of yours I think, to export in klm and then open in Google earth, so I will try that.
Hopefully there will be no more problems than you posted. If so I should be ok.
Thanks.

I'll be OK then

In that case I have nothing to worry about sussamb, I have never
used Nr.1. Never used Nr.2 and never use Nr.3
I'm sure many others are like myself so v.4.7.0 should be fine.

Yep ...

For many it will be. There are likely other issues though so if anyone does have an issue best to revert to 4.6.2 smile

Agree.

I agree with sussamb. Garmin released Basecamp 4.7.0 just to remove certain features, not to add anything useful or new. And with the known bugs (even if they don't affect you) and no indication that Garmin intends to fix them, why update to 4.7.0? The only reason I can think of is to avoid the annoying upgrade alert you get.

BC

Well if the truth be known I still prefer to use MapSource over BaseCamp.

And I am barely conversant with BaseCamp.
