NT Europe map on BMW Navigator 5?

Hello,
Firstly I would like to say hello to everyone, I'm new on this forum, but have been using your valuable inputs for years.
I have a question regarding maps, if anyone had this experience.
Would BMW Navigator 5 "eat" the NT Europe map and navigate properly?
This leads to another question: probably trips created on NTU map won't work on NT map of the same version? Besides unicode, are the maps different? I assume they are not identical. Let's say I create a trip (route) on 2018.20 NTU and then transfer it on a device with NT 2018.20. WIll he navigate or go mental? Trying to get the theory first, before messing with workarounds to push the map on the unit.
Getting an NT map on a Navigator of course is another topic, maybe for another time.
There is a long story to this, I could go into it if anyone is interested into why I want to do this, but in short this is it.

Route should work
I think the route should work, but will probably require a recalculate when transferred to a different map on a different device. As long as you have sufficient waypoints / shaping points, the route should stay intact after the recalc.

I've transferred routes created on NT maps to NTU ones and vice versa. As alandb says you'll probably have to do a recalculate, but then that's often true after a map update.
