Ambient Temperature Vs. Display Brightness

Well, just back from a long week of camping. The 7200 did it's usual yeoman's duty.

However, on the trip home it got pretty hot in the cab. (I don't normally run the A/C until it's so hot my teeth sweat!) At the end of the trip I noticed that the screen brightness was way down. I checked the display settings and all was normal.

Thinking about it after the fact it ocurred to me that perhaps the temperature up on the dash exceeded the enviromental limits of the unit. The specs say it's ok to 158 degrees F. I expect in the direct sun under the windshield, the unit could get up to that temp.

The display is fine now, a couple days after the fact.

Have any of you in the southwest seen this sort of thing yourselves? You see hotter temps than we do even on a sunny day here in Michigan.
