Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – June 2017

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

went to DC and MD...pretty sure we survived the rlc and speed cams, and it turned out to be very economical....usually costs an arm and a leg on business for lodging. But we scored a $76 Marriott with parking waived, and a $20/person breakfast included, very nice deal and surprisingly it was the AAA hot deal. It smoked all the online offerings....

cheap parking? My second guess would be the light traffic and short rush hours...third would have to be the friendly non-aggressive drivers in VA/DC/MD

Yeterday

Yesterday I took a trip from one end of my city to the extreme other end using a multi lane highway. Only about 30 miles but it sure felt like it was more due to HEAVY almost rush hour traffic.

Anyway I decided to leave my Garmin GPS at home and try to live with (USE) the built into my car Garmin based GPS. It practically drove me nuts. I was driving in what is known here as the the "Express" lanes with much fewer ways to exit. The stupid GPS told me every time there was a switch-over to "Keep left". I was as far left already. At least my Nuvi does not do that.

Having said that though, the Nuvi is reluctant to have me use the "Express" lanes getting on, it even wants to route me off the Express about 10 miles before I need to when I drive for home.

Ahhhh, computers !

After installing new map, I made a trip to Atlanta. Unfortunately, the map download was faulty. Reloaded when I got home, now all is working well.
