Garmin 660 mph indication

On the Garmin 660 in the lower left hand corner during a route, it lists the estimated arrival time.

When there is no route set it displays the speed.

Is there a way to make this display the speed when a route has been set and not the estimated arrival time?

In a word...

No.

Many of us wish that data

Many of us wish that data field was configurable, as it is in my old Garmin eTrex Vista. In fact, very little on the 6xx data displays is configurable.
I would also like to see 'time to destination' in the trip computer in addition to distance and ETA. Sometimes you punch in a route just to see how long it will take, but you are not going NOW. So you have to figure it out by the ETA. My feeble brain has trouble with that sometimes smile

While I'm at it, a QWERTY KEYBOARD OPTION PLEASE.

And. . . but that's another thread.

Work Around

Dgt,

You can of course touch the ETA display at the bottom left corner of your display to bring up another screen that contains your speed, direction, time traveled, etc.

But as far as being able to have the speed displayed instead of the ETA when you have a route selected, this is not currently an option.

You have to have a more expensive model to do all the fancy stuff for Example Street Pilot 7500
