Winter in midwest
Due to health reasons, for the first winter in six years, we are not headed south for the winter. It's really for the best, but I am not looking forward to snow. Already since enough, and it's only December!

So I'm doing a 'favor' for a friend... "Please convert a VHS tape to files" turns out to be 5 tapes, shot in EP mode....!!!
At the end of day 1 I'm at end of 3rd tape... Gonna call it a day!
Somethings tells me to check footage... And it's all SILENT!!!
I KNOW I heard audio during transfer, and in fact I was monitoring output of capture device, not audio input!!!
15 min later, I determine that my settings for capture were set for 16BIT Audio, and neither he nor I can read 16BIT Audio in the editing software!!
Grab the Label Maker!!! Make a label:
CAPTURE AUDIO @ 24BIT ONLY!!
103 GB of data down the drain!!!
Starting over.... (With 'Revised' Settings) !!!
Note to self: Do a test capture, and test that it works BEFORE continuing!!!
DUH!!!
A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

What are you using to convert?
I have an old vhs to cd. Haven't used in years.
Not sure if it will work with today's technology.
I would like to convert some old vhs tapes.

Years ago bought a JVC HR-S9911U VHS deck, with built in Frame Synchronizer and Noise Reduction.. It has paid for itself in 'archive' projects.... I'll get a couple beers for this one
Capture via MXO2, Edit in Premiere CS6, Dynamic Link to Encore and then to BR or DVD
