I've been using my 2599 for work and leave it on all day whether I'm using it to navigate or not. When my day is over, I could be one to two hours away from home and the GPS will tell me how many minutes from Home I am without my putting in a destination. It doesn't happen all the time, I don't see a particular setting for it, I was wondering if anyone else has stumbled across this?
My Trends
It's the My Trends that tracks your driving habits. It can be handy. Mine would know if I left at a certain time in the morning I was going to a certain clients place.
Not sure if they've made improvements as my GPS is a 5+ year old 2450 but in time, you may notice that it will take longer and longer to calculate and the trend data builds up and it has to sift through more and more data. Occasionally you will have to clear the old data out. Personally, I opted to turn the trending features off. Over time it just seemed to do some strange routing at times; like take 3 right turns to drive around a block instead a left turn with a light.

Yep ...
... it's myTrends, if you don't like it you can (as I've done) switch it off

My 2460 did it
It was odd because I thought I had turned the My Trends off. The problem is as jfossy states is it builds up data and will get slower and could create lockups and weird things going on.

Noticed it...
... happening recently on a 2598 too. Was wondering what was causing it. Now I know. MyTrends.
On the 2598 it can be disabled under: Settings > Device > Travel History. However the down side to unchecking Travel History is it not only disables (or enables) myTrends, but also "Where I've Been" and "Trip Log".

Thanks for the replies
Thanks for the replies everyone, I kind of like it, as long as it doesn't slow down the calculating time of the GPS. I guess I'm pretty predictable..
Just keep in mind you have it on.
If the GPS starts acting funky and slow it would be time to clear the log.
