Google Map Information

I was looking for information to help me on Google Maps and could not find the post I wanted so I think I will start a post for Google Map Information.

My first question is:
I have found that if you make a route with multiple stops on the phone or tablet you can send an icon to your phone or tablet (the item you are making the route on).
This is great. The Icon is on your home page to use when you need it. I have made two for my tablet. One to our trip destination and one to home. They have around 8 stops each.

The question I have is has anyone found a way to send the Icon from your tablet to your phone? I could not find a way so I remade the route in my phone (double work). It would be nice to make the route just once and then send the Icon to the phone or another tablet. I tried sending the directions to the phone but it came in as written directions and not an icon.

Thanks, Mary

sync

I save the links in browser favourites, instead of desktop, google syncs my browser favourites between all devices

Do you make a route with the favorites?

My route is made from my pois in my google maps.

All of my browser favorites are on my map and synced to all my devices. I am trying to get the route that I made with my POIs in Google Map that Google Map saved to my device that I was making the route on to sync between devices. (not sure is that sentence makes sense) grin

Another Problem with , Google Map Route

I was making a route in Google Map and needed several Waypoints. I had nine (I think) and then could put no more in.
The route maker will only let you put a certain number of waypoints in it. I had to par down my waypoints and could still get it to go where I needed the route to take me.

I guess when I need a route with more than 9 waypoints I will make two routes and start the second one where the first lets off.

My Nuvi 2450 will let me put in all the waypoints I need but we are getting brave and not taking Jill on this 400 mile trip. We do have a built in Navigation with our Honda Accord but to my surprise I find I can only put in 5 waypoints. I finally got the car Navigation to make the route by starting it way down the road where we knew to go and ending it just before we got to our destination.

We don't like to take I-35 down South so we take small back roads and enjoy the drive more. The only problem is I have to add the waypoints to get to go on the back roads I want to go on.

Jill is in the closet but you never know, I may get her out at the last second. She is updated, had all my POIs and routes ready.

O, I do have all my POIs in my Google Maps from Jill.

did you

ever build a route in basecamp and then export to your device?

google maps is better than baseCamp

Google maps is better than BaseCamp because it is easy to search for each waypoint location. No matter how your info is entered in the search box, Google Maps finds it quickly. BaseCamp is very specific with what has to be entered. Many searches come up empty.

BaseCamp and Google Map

I make my routes in BaseCamp and send them to my Nuvi 2450.

There is no way, that I can find, to send the route made in BaseCamp to Google Map.

That is something I will research...

The only thing about Google Maps is it has it's limits on the number of waypoints you are able to put in a route.

We are going to use our Car Navigation along with Google Maps for our upcoming trip. Will see how it goes.

We haven't gone on a trip without a Nuvi since I bought my Nuvi 750 the year it came out and for $700.00
(that tells you how long ago it was when we bought it as the Nuvis have come down so much in the past few years).
Will see how we do without her....
