Icon and MP3 files - use

I have been a user for a couple of weeks and I used some of your POI file in a recent trip. The icon and sound, could you explain the use of them . Does it show on the map as we are travelling for the icon? Does the sound is received if we are within a certain distance from a certain point? I ahave been reading your comments and it look interresting but I need to know the use of it before I start test on of them.

I think you understand how they should work.
The most important thing is to name the files the same.
for example if you had a poi file named such as;

ihop.csv you would need the icon to be named
ihop.bmp and if you wanted an mp3 it would be
ihop.mp3 all of these files would be in the same folder when loaded with poi loader.
Then when loading them with poi loader, you have the options to set proximity distances, then when you get within that distance, you should hear the mp3 for that poi, the bmp icon will display when driving near that point as well. The zoom on most models must be 300ft and closer.

if you search this site for any of the key words you will find plenty of info as well as clicking on any of the links at the top of the pages here.. such as getting started, faq, sounds etc.
