2350LMT taking extremely long to recalculate in DC

The unit was updated about 3 wks ago, firmware and map....

Is there anything in particular about DC, that would cause it to take minutes to recalculate? Have never seen it act like that....

clean out the junk

Clean out the junk in the nuvi for one thing. The other might be where in DC you are having problems. The central business core (K St/ Connecticut Ave.) all have high rise buildings with a lot of reflective glass that causes RF problems.

Not for me

I was in DC in April and had no issues. If it happens elsewhere try a master reset but if not I wouldn't worry about it.

I know exactly what you mean.

Whenever we travel thru DC, our Garmin units always have a tough time.

It's not just one model, but a couple different models using the same current maps that take us different ways and thru areas and on roads that we never would have expected.

Very convoluted routes.

Let it get a good fix

Box Car is right in that tall structures or even the location of the GPS inside the car can affect its reception.

This can also happen after the GPS is moved to a different location while it is turned off, for example after flying to a different city, or even driving around with the GPS turned off.

Turn it off - not just sleep - and restart it. Let it stay in one place outside in an open area for as long as it takes to get an accurate fix.

... Slightly different, the OP had issues with the time taken to recalculate, not unexpected routing.
