You done the right step hopefully that will correct the problem. These newer models require you to hold down the power button until you get the pop up to turn it off completely.Easy to miss this step sometimes.Just tapping power button once only puts it into the power saving mode and after a while the battery runs down.

thx for reply

unit updated but no go still loops at start . pains of a refurbished unit so live and learn I guess .

Vehicle Power?

This sounds very much like a battery issue.

Does your 2757 go into a boot loop when powered by your vehicle or a Garmin compatible AC charger?

Be aware that charging the battery via a computer USB connection is unreliable due to current variations in USB ports. This is especially true if you use an external USB hub.

Even though the battery indicator shows a full charge, the battery can still be defective. If your unit boots correctly using vehicle power, it might be worth replacing the battery.

Replacement units are available for under $16 such as: https://www.amazon.com/1500mAh-Battery-Garmin-2757LM-2797LMT...

Replacing the battery in a 2757 is relatively easy as per this you tube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4ObA4-bStg

Good Luck!

How long have you had your 2597? Normally if you purchased a refurb unit from an authorized Garmin dealer/reseller you will have the original full 1 year warranty on the device. I'd suggest you contact Garmin support or the dealer you purchased the 2757 from and either they can walk you through the "fix" procedure or replace the unit under the warranty.

I had a 3790 refurb which died on me my while I was on a very long trip.

When I got home I called Garmin. They told me where to send it to and sometime later I received another unit.

charge the battery

I agree with Bdhsfz6. Before taking more drastic measures, make sure the battery is fully charged using an AC charger. The vehicle power might be intermittent.

After charging the battery, if the problem continues, then look at replacement under the guarantee or changing the battery.

I don't think it would be a good idea to update the software or maps if the battery is discharged.
