stay with Nuvi
I would not move away from a dedicated unit, personally, unless they stop making them. I prefer a dedicated screen built for purpose.

What I am referring to would be an Android based Garmin Nuvi, like the Nuvi 4592, which hasn't been marketed in the United States.
hmm - OBD II app
A decent screen and processor with Android and wifi or Bluetooth and it may make a cool OBD II gauge
and you good log vehicle performance with location/traffic etc
