A Contributor's Wish List

As a contributor, I wish I could do certain things like:
1. Upload bmp icons or files together with the gpx and csv files, instead of having to email them to photos@poi-factory.com.
2. Post image files--jpg, bmp, gif, etc.--in topics and forums to describe or illustrate a point, directly instead of using links to photo-sharing sites.
3. Under Logbook, Maintainer Notes, I could just edit the wrong entry like mistyped word, instead of adding another entry to correct it.
These changes may not be practical or feasible or doable because of the enormous tasks involved, and that everything has to be checked and looked at first by the Team, but hey it's just a wish. No complaints.
Item 2
I would like to be able to post image files.
Me too
I would like to be able to post image files.
Many a time when trying describe something I wanted to post an image that would explain it better.
ALSO .... make it so clicking a link within a post opens a new tab/window instead of taking you off site in the current open window. Many times I click a link someone had provided, read the info and close the window, forgetting that I have to backtrack in order to get back to where I was here on POI Factory because the link took me off site in the same window, which mean re-logging in and finding my way back.

Also
Also when you post to a thread lets be taken back to the END of the thread and not the beginning. It' a bit of a PITA to be taken to page one of a long thread everytime you post to it.
AND - I'm not sure if it's possible with this forum software but most forum sites have an option for you to open an existing thread at the last post(end of the thread) or at the beginning (first post) if you wish. IMO that's much better than always opening a thread at the very beginning.

How About...
a "Bottom of Page" option in the header line similar to the existing "Top of Page" option on the footer.
Yes, the "Home" and "End" keys on your PC perform these actions but they are not available on many mobile devices.
I have a change that would be nice but not worth a major effort

In the category of feature wish lists, I have a change that would be nice but not worth a major effort (IMO). It's just a convenience and is dependent on the basic software that runs the board, so I suspect it would be a major effort to implement.
I would love the option of being able to jump to the last unread message in a given thread. We can have a list of unread posts displayed, but I have not found a way to jump to the first message that I have not already read in a given post (thread).

Do you mean you want to jump to the first unread message rather than the last?
What I suggest you try is at the end of each visit, you click the "Mark topics in ALL FORUMS as read", then click "Mark as Read" to confirm it.
If you do the above, then on your next visit, clicking "unread posts" should take you to "the first message that I have not already read in a given post (thread)" that you want to do.
Although not exactly related, you can also minimize the number of unread forum posts by clicking "Forum Preferences (Favorite / Hide)" where you can hide forums you have no interest in; e.g., Mac Topics or Tom Tom talk, if you're a PC & Garmin owner.

Use this URL, http://www.poi-factory.com/unread, to read the group. You will be able to exclude any group you don't want to read. Clicking the displayed post name will take you to the FIRST UNREAD message everytime.
