Release 4.1.015 proposed

Release 4.1.015 proposed features will:

1. GE will not provide any means of stopping GE or any of it's services from running on your computer. These services will check with Garmin every 5 minutes for unnecessary updates to non-automotive devices.

2. Your GPS must be connected once per day or you will not be able to navigate over bridges anywhere in the world. This is a safety feature.

Disadvantage...

of being an early map updater. GE was only up to v4.0.11.0 when I updated. Now I won't really know how well this version works until next map update. And my money is on another GE update before any maps smile

.

Anybody feel like reinstalling their maps from scratch using the new v4.0.13.0 to see how much better it is? I didn't think so... mrgreen

I did for my 255W. It loaded to both the unit and the SD card and computer in one operation.

Welcome to the GE of the

Welcome to the GE of the half week club.

We will be modifying this app to include new bugs as soon as we can.

Why cant Garmin just give us a simple selectable functions/options based app that installs the maps, firmware and options that we select, allows us to select where they are installed and just works.

I have the 2015.40 version of maps on my 1490LMT's SD card and it continues to remind me way too often that my maps are 2012 and should be upgraded, even though I run the current version of maps!!!!
