Dobs, I didn't know/had forgotten that this was possible--using Via Points with a Garmin GPS. I could have used this earlier this month going home from central Connecticut, when my GPS wanted to take me over the George Washington Bridge during rush hour, and I knew that was wrong. I had to write out a list of routes over the Tappan Zee Bridge, and mute the GPS until I got south of metro NYC. So thank you. I am printing out your instructions and will give it a try.
