How can I know if I have v8 maps?

Hi,

This is my first post and I am kinda overloaded with too much info right now!!

How can I know if my maps are the latest version (i.e. version 8)? Do you I have to pay fees for upgrade?

Thanks.

On the nuvi 350 you can

On the nuvi 350 you can check it like this (hopefully it is similar for you):
1. Touch the Settings wrench
2. Touch the Map icon
3. Touch the Map Info button at the bottom.

.

The fee for the map update is currently $75. You may or may not need the update depending upon the areas in which you drive.

You can use the Map Visualizer on the MapSource pages at Garmin to view the maps.

I couldn't find it. Do you have the direct link to the Map Visualizer? I have a C340.

Thanks,

Look on the upper right corner of the screen. Use the drop down list to select the product you want to look at. Pan and zoom as needed to see the areas you want to see. The newest version may not be up there yet since it's not officially out yet.

V9 Coming Out?

If you don't have version 8, you might consider waiting - I read in another post that version 9 is getting ready to ship.

v2008 (version 9) is out

On new units available for retail sale. It should be available for upgrade purchases in a few weeks.
