Garmin Repair via Sharcnet-USA

Does anybody have experience using sharcnet to repair their old Nuvis? I finally got an emailed response from them re the $35 cost of replacinbg my N650 screen, which is quite reasonable especially since they will also replace the battery and on-off switch for $15 and update the maps with SD card for $5. Since then and after numerous reminders, I have gotten no response at all regarding their ship to/pay to information. Their site does not include phone or address information.

Jim repaired my old 660 several years ago (replaced bad touch screen) and it's still working to this day.

Rather than using his website, try sending him a PM from here through his profile. In the past, he has responded faster that way.

I highly recommend Jim. Keep trying.

They repair TWO of my devices.

Jim repaired TWO of my devices - My Nuvi 650 which had the dreaded screen failure, and my wife's 2360 screen, which was "cracked somehow".

I HIGHLY recommend their services, as they even went to the trouble to find the RIGHT screen for the 2360 - so it could be "fixed correctly".

Jim also sent a DETAILED report of the work done, including the TESTS of the firmware, battery, etc.

I also recommend contacting them via PM, as I just checked their site (and the one that hosts them), and I can't reach it at this time. Could just be network issues on my end ...

+1

I had my 660 with the unresponsive touchscreen repaired this summer and also upgraded the off/on switch for five bucks more.

Highly recommended!

Found new Repair Co

Finally gave up on sharcnet since they never responded to my repeated requests for pay to/ship to info. Used Short Tronics (PalmDR.com) Mankato, MN, who provided first rate service at a reasonable price with updated em communication during the entire process, and of course, they repaired the digitizer on my N650. Works fine now. Highly recommend them for their professionalism.
