Combined US Campgrounds error?

Did anyone else have a problem with loading Combined US Campgrounds. I tried to load the Sept 10th version to no avail.

Fred

Successful for me

I just successfully loaded the file to my 2595 after I renamed it to "Combined US Campgrounds" which I did because I avoid numbers in file names.

I did the same but it didn't

I did the same but it didn't work.
When I eliminated only that one file, all the other poi's loaded to my Garmin 370.
Guess I'll just wait for another version next week.

I messaged the author. I've had issues with his previous releases and Garmin software not recognizing the file. Usually it's OK with his/her next release. The release from the 10th also does not work in any of my Garmin software or units.

Same Here

POI Loader (2.7.3.0) won't accept the September 10th version, but the August 21st version, no problem. I tried renaming it to US_Campgrounds, still no cigar. Hmmm...

Thanks for the post. I was

Thanks for the post. I was just getting ready to download the new version. Guess I will wait for the next one.

Works for me

I am able to create a .gpi file with no errors using the September 10 file both with and without the prefix number (and no other change to the file name).

Poi Loader version 2.7.3.0

File corrected

I reposted the GPX file a dot was missing let me know if it works

gpx

I did not know there was a gpx version of COMBINED US Campgrounds - have been using the csv version.

Thanks

This version loaded with no problems.
Thanks rivopom.

Where?

@rivopom,

So it was the .gpx version and not the .csv version that was causing the problem? Right?

Where was the "dot" missing? Why was it a problem?

Do you know what the error message from POI Loader would have been? I can not check it now because the .gpx file is already corrected.

I ask because we get so many members reporting errors without any indication as to what the error message was. I have always wanted to create a FAQ that has various error messages and what the error might be caused by.

error

usually it is a typing error a dot was missing in the coordinates
i caught it in the csv but not in the gpx

-xx.xxxxx -xxxxxx

also to watch out for a single "
" text "

" text or text "

this will hang the program
