In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).
Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.
my 3 trips fell through, reschedule for a later time.
Next week, two day golf trip to East End of Long Island.
KFC for lunch!
Going to ride with my other half and visit a couple of memorials in Oklahoma for the Tour of Honor. Weather forecast looks great!
to San Antonino, TX. Grandson will finish Air Force BMT at Lackland AFB. Any suggested places to stay or see besides the Alamo and River Walk are welcome.
There are a lot of things to see and do in the San Antonio area. I will tell you the visiting the Alamo isn't necessarily one of them. The area around the Alamo has turned into one humungous cheap souvenir shop. Depending on how long you are going to be there, I'd opt for places such as Goliad where the Mexican Army was defeated or the Mexican Governor's Palace in downtown SA. Austin, with its horrible traffic is 50 miles up I-35 and Town Lake and the bats at sunset is quite a sight. Austin has a very good nightlife scene and lots of great places to eat.
There are a number of excellent places to dine in the SA area. There are many that do serve real Tex-Mex and a lot that put the label on some really poor offerings. One of my favorites is out Hwy 16 near Helotes called El Chaparral. Load your GPS with the Diners Drive-ins and Dives POI for a good selection of choices.
Lackland is on the west side of town, so for hotels, I'd look to the NW area for lodging. It won't be cheap, but there are some deals available between the two loops - I-410 and 1604. Check with the front desk at your hotel for both sightseeing and dining tips. One of my better questions for a front desk clerk is "Where would you go if...?" That makes it more personal.
Went crosstown to find a new Dr office.
I'm in the office for the past week, doesn't look different for next week....
happy sunday everyone
Smooth trip to Baltimore and back - all good.
Heading out tomorrow on our 11,000 mile , half by auto, half by Amtrak 50 day travels thru 22 states.
(If I counted correctly). 3 graduations and 7 birthdays. Very expensive time !!!!!!!
Rest Areas Combined file will most likely take a backseat during that time but will try to update as soon as we return in late June !
from my kitchen to the bathroom of my house. No GPS required.
I have this as a favorite, so it is pretty accurate, but it still worked and was a great weekend...of course that was until I got the motorhome stuck across a dirt road for 5 hours...oh well, still had a great time.
going to north Texas in 2 weeks. I have worked out a route which is 40 minutes longer, but swings wide of Dallas keeping me on Texas highways instead of interstates.
Drove up to Manassas, VA for my first air show of the season. Also a good first road trip for the new Durango. Now all I have to do is figure out how to install my custom POIs to the in-car Nav unite - I've found instructions in several places (including here) but I can't seem to get it to load.
Needed to go into an area in Chicago that is well known for gang activity and constant shootings. Nuvi took me there and out in the most expeditious manner. This was a daytime run!
Finding a course I've never played before
...searching out the Cinco de Mayo beer sales!
Used the Red Light Camera file to avoid RLC's in Montgomery. Sorry about the businesses that were avoided in the process but we found plenty of alternatives and all we were seeking.
Made it as far as Oklahoma City (from Chicago) before turning around - only had a week for the journey.
Tucson. Did some great sightseeing and had a fun time. The old Nuvi worked flawlessly!
Is it May already?
I need to make my summer travel plans. I'm just recalibrating the map right now after one of them gave me a location that was off by several miles.
No trips, just a week of relaxing.
Haven't gone anywhere lately, but I keep the Garmin charged up and POIs up to date. Just in case the traveling urge knocks.
Still freezing my Assets off!
Back to South Dakota for the weekend. Have a BIG trip coming up soon.
Nothing too special this week; planning to dine out sometime this weekend for Mother's Day.
Aqueduct Raceway & Casino for Mother's Day
friends 34 foot motorhome they loaned us. The motorhoome had sat for a few years and we helped them get it back on the road. Shakedown run went well...and the Nuvi was 100 percent spot on for routing and travel
Wonderful time to visit.
Got my new tonneau cover installed at dealer.Wonder why the Garmin takes you the long way when you have shortest route enabled.
Two day golf trip, east end of LI. Rained out on day two.
Went out for Birthday ,Mothers day breakfast.
Made the round trip from Fort Worth to Norman OK for a friend's graduation from OU. Used the TomTom app on my SG2 this trip...worked great.
Took my mother to Warrensburg NY to visit my brother
Peekskill, that is. (NY)
We went up to Erie to attend our nieces graduation from Penn State, Behrand.
No problems, and spot on for anything we needed to look for or get to (nuvi 50LM).
Hope all Mother's enjoyed their Day yesterday
Made a short hop to the local pizza shop over the weekend.
Baltimore, MD to Dover, DE.
