How to factory reset Garmin Nuvi 265WT

I would like to factory reset my Garmin nuvi 265wt. Has anyone had problems after a factory reset?

Factory Reset

If you have favorites read this to back them up before performing the reset.

To do the reset press and hold with your thumb the bottom right corner of the screen and while doing this turn the unit on. Continue pressing the screen until the unit boots up and marks if you want to erase all user data, press yes.

No problems after a factory

No problems after a factory reset.

To reset:

  • Start with the device OFF and unplugged from power
  • Press and hold the lower right hand corner of the display portion of the touchscreen
  • Power on the device while continuing to hold the display
  • Remove your finger from the touchscreen when "Erase all user data?" appears
  • Touch Yes.
