Avoiding driving on the worst of the snow days, hitting the store. Main roads were pretty good yesterday - still some heavy snow spots in the early morning though. For the most part people seemed to be using common sense and exercising caution where the roads could have been frozen. Will be happy to see spring arrive!

Spent in Chicago, IL. Not really so nice, but A LOT nicer then NY!

Carolinas this week, looking forward to getting back north.

After a month of traveling, looking forward to spending some time at home.

My last trip was in October of last year. Awesome.

GPS helped bypass a wicked traffic jam as many were heading to Napa Valley for a big wine auction. I'm just here to work at my firm's office.

A trip to Louisiana where the GPS routed me wrong once going and once coming back. Lucky I knew where I was going.

On the way to FL ... Everglades, Key West, Daytona Beach. Not going to the Daytona 500 tho ... will be in Daytona after the race. But I do have the MRN POI downloaded so I can listen. It will be interesting to see how my new 3597LMTHD works on this trip. Taking my old reliable 855 along as a backup.

This Winter... argh.

Garmin saved a a lot of time batting around San Antonio. Was able to map out the places I needed to go and integrate the shopping stops my wife wanted to make. Made a nice loop into, around & back out of town without a hitch.

I lost it a long time ago, but trying to get it back!

I took a cruise to St. Petersburg last September...what a cruise, but the Garmin was not too useful there, so,I winged it. All other countries were great though.

I bought a 2014.30 SB Europe the other day, as we are going again in July...now $28.00! I remember paying 4X that, what happened? I suppose with all the models giving "free maps" they can't give the buggers away.

It's good to be back again!

I set my GPS to find Walking Dead places and had a good time. Only thing that would have made it better is if I was chased by Zombies.

I really need to head out on a road trip soon...

Yes, you can add custom icons to the Custom POI files from here at The Factory to display on your nuvi 40.

One last thought. Many nuvis come with the trial version of Garmin's Safety Cameras. If you haven't downloaded The Factory's redlight or speed camera files and installed them with Garmin's POI Loader, then you're seeing the Garmin Safety Camera results:

The icon and audio for this accessory is not customizable as far as anyone knows. The solution then is to use The Factory's files. You have your windmill, I see, so you have access to the files:
