Highway Caualties

I'm not religious, but I feel really bad for the Paul Walker family this holiday.

I lost a very close friend in a car crash. He too was a famous movie star. Name Brandon deWilde (Shane, the movie) 40 years ago. The pain of that loss has never left me. Walker's death brought it all back.

Still 30,000 auto deaths a year in the US.

I've driven a car for a living for 35 years . I'm good at this driving thing, but I'm still just lucky. Not being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wish everyone a happy - holiday this month and drive as safely as you can.

Satellite Radio

The subscription for sirius had expired when I purchased my 'new' (to me) Lincoln. I happened to scroll through the media available and noticed that sirius radio was working. 'Freebee' I guess. Anyway, along with the radio it also shows updated traffic info. One more tick for a built-in nav system. Although 'traffic' is available in the Nuvis. I wonder which one is more accurate. Might need to do a test run before the freebee runs out.

As a side note, weather info is available to overlay the route map---at more than $100/month. YIKES.

Frost Coming!

Wow! The first frost of the season will be tonight in Sacramento. All the plants are covered and cozy. We're being told this frost threat could be around for as many as 5 or 6 days. I hope the citrus farmers are able to get their trees protected and fruit harvested. Good luck to them.

Hope all were cozy and warm with family and friends for the Thanksgiving week end. Have a great return to work and rest of the week and, please, take care of each other.
