Induction

I'm thinking of buying a free standing induction range.
3 times we have left the burner on on our stove. Luckily nothing was on top. The only range i know that turns off by itself is a induction range. Problem is these things are expensive and not a lot of ratings out there, not that many to choose from either. Any one have such an animal?

Lucky there. Don't have Aluminum. Besides, they do have a ring you can buy to get around that. I'm not looking for a cook top.

Magnet

If you want to make sure your pots and pans will work, get a magnet. If it sticks to the bottom of your pan, it will work.

I don't have an induction range, but a friend of mine loves the one they have. They like that it gives you control like gas (instant temp changes). It's a flat top and since the elements themselves don't get hot, spill overs are easier to clean up.

How it works I know and I surely know what they COST.
What I don't know is the reliability of them and who makes the best. Looking for some one that has had it for a year or so.
