How do I use a backup

I have never had this problem before. Garmin Express has messed up both my GPS. I. Have backups not in Express rather ones I did myself. How do I use this backup? Do I just copy all the files to the GPS icon? Should I enable invisible files first or will they copy over without that. I had the new maps on my machines and without good reasoning I allowed it to update. Four hours later one says its copied 55 files and been there almost since I started. The other one is similar. Nothing is happening. I'm ready to pull the plug and put this software in the trash. Hope someone can tell me how to do this.

Restore

Assuming you have a full backup, just copy the opposite way that you made the backup. (instead of copying GPS to your computer, copy the files form your computer to the GPS.)

I would enable the "invisible" (aka system - hidden) files first. Let it replace any files it finds.

Thanks

That is about what I figured. I am saved tho. I was rather upset by the whole scenario so I ejected the 660 and stopped the Garmin Express program. Restarted the program with no GPS attached and the silly thing is still spinning. So I did the same with the 3790 and it is doing the same thing. The unit itself had not been touched by the upgrade. Apparently this program downloads the software to the computer and will put it on the unit later. I'm still not impressed with the software but will see what happens in the morning. Both GPS units are safe anyway and that's what is important.
