Tomtom not showing up on my computer

When I hook up my VIA 1535 to my computer I can not find it when I go to "my computer". Didn't have this problem with my other Tomtom (XL).

Are you using a firewall like Zonelabs, it looks like perhaps your firewall is blocking reading the device. This happened with my Iphone until I allowed itunes outbound contact.
No Zonelab firewall
I am just running whichever firewall comes with Windows XP.

Your newer TomTom VIA 1535 will not appear as a disk drive when you connect it to your computer. You will need to use the MyTomTom application to manipulate that device.

NONE of the new TT models on the market since Sept 2010, (VIA Series, Start 20 thru 60 Series, etc) show up as a drive. As VersatileGuy said, they are only accessible with the "MyTomTom" software!!!

Start 40/45-50/55 are basically rebadged XL and XXL's and in the US can be accessed through Home. I'm unsure about other models and countries.
