Spammers
I clicked on a thread titled "Get your prom dress." Or something like that. Next screen says, "You are denied access.
Thousands of automated posts are being blocked by CAPTCHA, but there are still a half dozen or more manually created posts added each day. I usually catch them before they show on the site, but occasionally one slips through for a short while.
A few months ago, we were getting a lot of link spam from China (often for sites selling Ugg boots). Now there’s quite a bit of manually added spam coming through botnets in Europe (for clothing, porn, etc.)
I am a Mod on another forum and we are facing the same problem daily. According to the web designers who use phpbb, captcha won't work... they are using an older release and they don't make money doing maintenance work so any upgrade won't happen soon.
So several times a day, I look at who was new to sign up and blow away the spammers and their posts - China, Russia, Turkey, Germany, Pakistan, Korea, Israel and yes, even the good ol' USA.
You actually do a much better job at keeping them off in the first place. Everything I am doing is after-the-fact.

I know. By the 4th quarter I was biting my fingernails wondering if the 49ers were going to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."
I feel sorry for Alex Smith, but Kaepernick looks like he has great potential as a QB.

Living near Tampa, the 1PM game was the Bucs at the Saints. What a waste of air time! I fell asleep.
