Windows 8: Hands-on experiences

This thread is for people who are actually using Windows 8 to post their impressions (both good and bad), share discoveries (also both good and bad), and offer tips they've found.

If you are not actually using Windows 8 then please refrain from posting unless you are making a direct response to a previous post or a specific comment on a feature that is new (or changed, or removed) in Windows 8. This is not the place for general comments like "I'm not going to use Windows 8 because every alternate release of Windows sucks". Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Please give us some feedback. Understand the new Internet Explorer 11 comes with it.

Thanks for the link. I'll give 8.1 a try when I have time.

I just finished installing Windows 8.1 preview an hour ago. I'm reviewing Windows 8.1 right now (typing this on IE11). I don't see any significant difference between this and Windows 8. I was hoping to see the good old Start Menu being enabled by default. It's either not available or I can't find a way to enable it (without 3rd party add-on).

Thanks. I still don't like Windows 8.1. I'll just wait for 8.11 for workgroup.

LOL!

LOL! Yeah they're getting right on that, but first they want to debug the Win 8 code for the 2400 bps dial-up modem. It's been disconnecting when used with AOL.
