Submitted as CSV POI file for Garmin containing locations of all San Diego Home Cooking Cafes, throughout San Diego county, CA.
These popular places feature generous portions of traditional American comfort food and homemade Hungarian dishes. Each Café makes fresh daily dinner rolls, biscuits, secret recipe homemade dressings, hearty soups, gravies, house-ground hamburger patties, oven-roasted turkey breast, a large selection of “mama’s” homemade pies, and their famous homemade cinnamon rolls.
In Sep 2020 I verified with a physical visit that the last remaining SDHC location in Mission Valley is permanently closed, and has been for some time. Their website has also been taken down. Posting this update so that the 53 users who had downloaded the file can take notice, before I request that the file be removed altogether.
Sadly, as of May 2019, four out of the five locations have been sold off or closed, so at this time San Diego Home Cooking is no longer a chain of affiliated restaurants. Their flagship location in Mission Valley however, remains open and thriving with all of the distinctive dishes and features which made it popular; it is unknown if or when plans to expand will resume.
