Every time you update a new map or do a hard reset, do you have to re-upload your custom POI files (red light cameras) again?

Answer Is No
A map update or hard reset will not effect your POI's. But a hard reset will delete your favorites.
Always smart to do a complete backup of your unit and update the backup whenever you make changes.
