This is the week that we locals either leave the area or hunker down.

During that time, we do not go to restaurants or grocery stores. On Friday some of us do not go to work. We do not look forward to this, but we love your money, so you are welcome.

Non-Interstate speed traps. The speeds are posted, but police in these areas are serious about speeders.
A few years ago, the county mayor asked the municipalities to suspend speeding laws for that weekend. The other mayors ignored him.

These are some of the posted deer crossing areas. Hell, the whole part of the country is one big wild animal crossing. Last I saw, the animals were not obeying the signs.

Schools are in session. Not all schools, but these are places I've been that kids are more likely to walk off the curbs.

Saw an interview on a couple of days ago that said that the high bank was regraded from a 3-groove to a 1 1/2 to 2 groove. I guess some of you know what this means. Supposedly will cause more wrecks.
