Well, we made it to my Wife's parents' house for Christmas and found out her mother landed herself back in the hospital. She had just been released the day before we left home. Guess I know where we will be after breakfast.

Merry Christmas-Eve-Day everyone! My wife & I spent the afternoon at the hospital & they released her Mom after dinner, so we were there to bring her home last evening.
We'll just have to see how the next few days go. We've cancelled our Christmas dinner at the restaurant since the doctor wanted her to get lots of rest the next few days. She left the hospital with a walker because she is not too steady on her feet. They also ordered home PT, but that won't get started until after Christmas. But, she's glad to be home... who wouldn't be.

trying for a house
I've been looking to get back into a house this fall/winter. Found a couple of bank owned places that would have worked, but each time my offer was passed over in favor of a cash investor offering less but who could close without going through the loan process.
Another place was a short sale that turned out to have mold issues, so that fell through too.
So hopefully something will work out soon
