Lifetime Map update for Garmin/Magellan $69.99

grin Just wanted to share with everyone what I think is a pretty good deal... I found a website selling the free lifetime map updates for Garmin for $79.99 (as opposed to Garmin's website price of $89.99)I then used a coupon code (code is: IS10OFF50) which brought the price down to $69.99 (so $20 less than Garmins price).
The website url is iSave.com The software is available as a download or shipment. I had to change the dropdown menu to download. I'm not sure but I believe the shipment method may have been $10 more. Hope this comes in handy for someone else! grin

PS...The entire process took about 10 minutes from the time I submitted my payment til the time I received the email with my activation key in it. The email did contain the correct link taking me right to Garmin and I can confirm that I have updated my GPS and it is reading the 2012 version map, as well as my Garmin account stating I have limetime updates. <--- For any sceptics who may think I was scammed as such a great price wink

Lifetime Map Update For $69.99

Thank you for the tip. Is that for a limited time or can we pretty much use that whenever we want to use it?

It is always nice to save money.

I paid Garmin 89.99 recently for lifetime maps. Plus Garmin charged me Illinois sales tax. That was a surprise.

I can't find an expiration

I can't find an expiration date on it anywhere but I would hate to tell you it's ongoing and have it expire. However, the coupon is listed as "promotional". This is how my receipt looks...

GIFT CARD DETAILS
iSave Promo (IS10OFF50): $10 off $50 or more. Excludes Shipping Charges and Tax.

Sorry I can't give you a definite answer on that one. sad

Sorry to hear that I was

Sorry to hear that sad I was always under the impression that you could only buy the map updates from Garmin.com and I'm sure thats what they want you to believe, which is why I posted this deal. Even if the coupon expires it's still $10 less than their site and hey $10 is $10! If nothing else, hopefully others can see that they CAN purchase it elsewhere for less.

Ugh... contemplating a new

Ugh... contemplating a new 1300LMT refurb. Or getting maps for my old 255w with this deal.

cheap

Well I have to admit $70 for lifetime maps has to be a deal. How does the "lifetime" part work? You get a code for a specific device right? and whenever THEY feel that product has runs its "life" course it will no longer unlock the maps - am I correct?

The reason I ask, my brother had a Magellan maestro #### and it had 2008 maps (as I recall) and when I contacted them about map updates, they said the device was considered a legacy item and no longer supported. evil

Here's the newest, even cheaper deal!! $59.99!

The website had all good reviews but unfortunately I wasn't able to find a coupon code for them sad However, they are still much cheaper even without a code.

By having the Chicago location, Garmin is comkpelled to charge you Illinois sales tax. At least it saves you the effort of keeping track of it yourself and paying the state the tax at the end of the year. smile
