Thanks

Thanks, the update did indeed fix the JV problem.

If your doing this update using the 3790 on battery, make sure you follow the warning about having a fully charged battery. That's always important but this update takes a long time to install (loading software message stays on the screen a long time) so a nearly dead battery could mean a really dead Nuvi if it goes dead before the update completes.

Thanks for testing the JV fix, Rick. I've found however that the persistent "Database for FM Traffic Providers" bug has still not been resolved. I have yet to check the operation of the traffic receiver/traffic icon color to see if it still stays green when the traffic receiver is disconnected or if the data is old. I'll report my findings in a bit.

EDIT: Traffic icon color change on disconnect/old data has not been fixed either...unless this is now "normal" behavior...silly if you ask me. I'm going back to v3.60 once again.

software version 4.20

I upgraded my software and my first test (with gps simulator on) showed multiple JV’s on one route with split screen on both portrait and landscape mode. Very cool! The real test comes tomorrow when I normally drive 150 to 200 miles. I’ll be back tomorrow night with some results.

I updated the software and the website is still telling me there's a software update. That's still not fixed.
Minor detail though.

Latest Software 4.20

Looks like a winner with software 4.20. Multiple junction views on my routes and turn signal (top left of screen arrows) don’t disappear as they did in version 4.10. Also I completed 163 miles without any strange glitches using most of the features except for the route planner.

I have some JV photos for you.

1. I had a 7:45am pickup from Staten Island NY to Manhattan. (Thank god for HOV lane).
2. Going over the Verrazano Bridge lower level, JV showed up.

3. Once over the bridge I got into the HOV lane and the gps tried to get me to leave the (278) highway due to traffic. Obviously the gps had no idea I was using the HOV lane.

4. Well I made through the Battery Tunnel and onto the FDR. My plan is to take the FDR highway and get off at Houston st. Again due to traffic the gps tried to route me off.

5. Finally made it to my destination off Houston st.
