Blue Ridge Parkway

I plan on riding the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive.

Has anyone converted the current Blue Ridge Parkway cvs file at the POI Factory file to a GPX file I can use with my Zumo 550?

Thanks,
Buddy

Is this it?

What does your zumo need? Extra POI Editor can generate various formats.

Your Zumo can use either one. Unless you need some of the special features found in the GPX format, there is no need to convert. In any event, it's an easy process if you download and install Extra_POI_Editor.

Enjoy the ride

It is beautiful!!!

I've done a couple pieces of it here and there, Skyline a couple times, and last Fall, we tried to do the entire length starting from the southern terminus, but a winter storm (snow, and lots of it) closed several miles of the southern end, so we had to take other highways north until we got far enough away from the storm.

Consider a slight detour to see Mt. Mitchell.

Enjoy, take your time. It is very pretty.

The weather is volatile down there, near the southern end where you will be at altitude. One day we were sweating in our shorts and tee shirts, and two days later the same area was shut down in a huge snow storm, with roads all over the place closed.

The Great Smokies National Park is very pretty.

Enjoy!

Blue Ridge/Sky line Drive

Thanks everyone, I think perhaps I misread the stsement about the file at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/17730. To me it read like it was only Skyline.

About to load the poi's to my Zumo. I'll check it out some.

Thanks again,

Buddy

Definitely spend time in the Smokies

The BRP is prettier in NC due to higher altitudes, and the Smokies are at the pinnacle of that beauty. The Smokies have their own POI file on this site.
