Thanks Ms POI

My first post and just wanted to take the time to thank Ms. Poi and all the contributors here for their advice and donations of their POIs. I am a first time GPS owner, Garmin Nuvi 660, and found your POIs very useful and fun to play with. Hopefully in the future I will learn enough to contribute as well.

Thanks again for this wonderful resource.

your 660

So how do you like your 660 so far? I bought a nice Magellan about two weeks ago and have decided it's not what I want, and that 660 just came down in price, and is so darned cute, I may get one of those...

So far I love it. Of course

So far I love it. Of course this is a bias report since I have never owned a GPS before. I have used it to travel a 400+ mile route and a 600+ mile route. Both trips were very accurate. I also used the DETOUR function on the 600+ mile route and it worked flawlessly (even got to tour some back-country I did not even know existed.). I will not go into what I like about the 660 because that is everything so far. So I will tell you the main reasons I bought it and its apparent faults.

Reasons I bought the 660 were
1) big screen
2) FM Modulator - Convertible so needs to be loud
3) Portable - so I can move from one car to the other

Things I do not Like:
1) No way to delete incorrect POI supplied with Unit - In other words it tells me there is a Bank where a Vet is now. No way to delete or change this.
2) No way to Learn routes - I always go a certain way home. The 660 wants to take me a different way
3) Only one via allowed per route - would be nice to plug in multiple stopping points along a route.
4) No IPOD plug - when using the FM modulator currently no way to also play the IPOD. The MP3 player on the 660 is limited compared to my 60gb IPOD.

I would just use a head phone splitter or a "Y" cable...

Your radio will not care about it and will play all
at once.

Njoy!!!
