poi download

According to the users manual, you need a USB cable, you need to insure the USB drivers for your Garmin have been loaded on your pc, and you need the Garmin POI Loader software. All of this is available on Garmin's web site for free, if it didn't come with your unit.

Then you can upload direct to your c340 with all of this. I'm not sure about loading POI's to the SD card, but I bet you can, I haven't tried it though. As to the limit, well the documentation on the C series says that it has max 500 waypoints, but doesn't list POI's. Sometimes they are treated the same, but on your unit I can't say for sure.

I'm not sure about the limit either but I currently have over 2300 POIs loaded in my c340.

i played around with this a little and was able to download about 41,000 poi's, but not more than that.
i gives you an error message that there is not enough space when you try to download more than that.

was that to the SD card or to the internal memory?

You just need to download the POI loader from Garmin's site. Then you download the POI file(s) and select what directory in the POI loader that the files are in and it will dump them onto your gps. You need to have the USB cable connected to your gps and the drivers installed first of course.

Both username and pw must be lower case, I just tested and it works...I think I gave gpsdocs as the pw before..doh..

PS. I copied the info above from this post and pasted it in and it worked fine.

Just tested it and it worked ok..The right PW helps!
