I wanted to be funny or sarcastic but on second thought the situation over there is to tragic to make fun of this soon after the event and the problems of radiation the Japanese face.

My friend living near one of those towns says it is not exaggerated. The flooding is very true.
Significant
The earthquake caused significant changes to the position and elevation to parts of Japan. Enough that GPS coordinates have changed for various locations.
It is amazing to see the Chilean quake changed some locations 14 feet.

I'm guessing your thinking was along these lines?
Not that I don't feel sorry for what the people are going through, but at the same time if you play with fire, you're bound to get burnt.
"The Planet is Fine", Just not sure of the inhabitants

I guess that would be the same as living in tornado alley or beside a river that overflows each spring or at the end of a runway??
All the worlds indeed a stage and we are merely players. Rush
Flooding
Like those rivers in North Jersey expecting to rise this week due to a week of rain.
We're not supposed to be there!
There is a road out in the Hamptons in NY that gets hit by major beach erosion after major storms. People built houses right on the beach and they get destroyed all the time. Next they want the government to replenish the sand to save the houses.
It is not cheap and is a waste of time (next storm, same thing) The best part is, the beach is private and not opened to the public. The only thing welcome is our money to bail them out.
If you build in a swamp you better know how to swim!
Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!

Yes. Million dollar homes with million(s upon millions of) dollar owners, and they go crying and demanding like a 5 year old kid screeching in a toy store, for the government (the tax payers) to keep mother nature from doing its thing.
At least one CAN feel sorry for the plight the people in Japan in those areas affected are going through. But the Long Island group can just all fall into the ocean and drown for all I care.
The fools are

Not so foolish, we the general public are the fools by giving them money every time they get flooded out. Why my tax money goes to people that have shown poor judgment on repeated occasions is nothing more than the nanny state buying votes.
The people of Japan had no way to know that an earthquake would alter the topography to the extent that they would be subject to flooding. In addition I am sure that the majority of people living there were there before TEPCO build nuclear reactors near their homes.
