POI Verifier

RT, I tried to 'clean up' my copy of the BURLINGTON .csv file after noticing your update, but I wasn't allowed to. I got the following error message after trying several times:

USE A TEXT EDITOR, NOT EXCEL, TO CHECK FOR DUPLICATE QUOTES.

Line 1 cannot be parsed using the current Delimiters. (Error #5) in procedure ‘Getting File Data, Stripping Headers, and Cleaning File Format’. Verification will terminate.

Any idea of what I might be doing wrong with this file?

Some problems POI Verifier will clean up, others it will notify you of a problem. Quote pairs is one problem it can't fix, so it notifies you. The original file had quote pairs at the beginning and end of field 3.

Excel doesn't always correctly display what's in each field. If you use a text editor, such as Notepad, you'll see the double quotes. You can either manually remove one quote from the beginning and end of field 3; or do a replace of ("") with (") [without brackets]. Then save it with the text editor. That should fix it.

Maybe this will explain it a little better:

1st Time

RT, that was the first .csv file out of 18 that the (" ") problem arose.

Shucks, there goes my hitting streak! wink
