Will the constant use of alarm pop-ups have anything to do with the memory on my Nuvi 660. I have many pop-ups on my Nuvi. Does it do any damage to have too many pop-ups?
I would think the popups
I would think the popups have very little effect on your nuvi 660 performance. It is dealing with maps that are over 1 Gig uncompressed. A few hundred or thousands of popups are a drop in the memory bucket. Your nuvi has as much power (memory and CPU performance) as the common PC of 5 years ago.
Note: Really bad programing done on the GPS OS could result in memory leaks, but that can happen with any feature/process running.

As powerful as PC 5 years
As powerful as PC 5 years ago? Are you sure? For one, that 1G is flash memory, it behave more like a hard drive than memory. Anyone know how much internal memory NUVI has?
Well the memory is probably
Well the memory is probably the same as the common PC in a year or two, thus the large expense of the Nuvi when they came out. Most PCs nowdays have a few Gig of memory. The CPU is the power of PC of about 5 years ago.
