Check Traffic Receiver (error message)

Today as I was driving, my nuvi 855 kept displaying an error message "Check Traffic Receiver" or similar. The message took the whole screen and would only clear by touching the error message to acknowledge. Then five seconds later it would repeat.

I have no idea what to check the traffic receiver for, and it was too dangerous to fiddle it while driving, so I shut everything down.

I still have my non traffic receiver power cord so can revert to that, but why would this error appear? I've had the traffic receiver for a long time without this error....

885t

I have an 885t with trafficc (lifetime) but upon purchasing the lifetime map update, it caused the MSN to stop working, which I was told could be used thru 2012 when it was supposed to be discontinued.
I requested any info available on this forum, but noone answered my post.
Has MSN become a memory?
If so, is there another way to receive local gas prices?

gas prices

MSN Direct is scheduled to shut down in about 8 months IIRC. A better place for gas prices is to visit gasbuddy2go.com on a mobile phone.

Still Alive...

cool

MSN is still active and will be for another 8 months.
No problems on my 765t, You cannot use two traffic providers at once, you must use one or the other but not both. My 765t came with lifetime traffic but I keep MSN over the ad pron lifetime that came with the 765t.

When MSN shuts down I will continue to use the MSN traffic cable that will in effect disable traffic on my 765t. I will not use the free lifetime cable with ads but instead use a app from my Sprint Epic 4G or use the traffic channels from XM Radio.

XM Radio and A app called INRIX Traffic are DEAD ON!!!

ALL the other providers are USELESS and a WASTE of money in my opinion!
Hope this has helped.

I think he was referring to the Gas Buddy site.

The proper one is: m.GasBuddy.com

Or, get the app from: http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_mobile_instructions.aspx
