Adding proximity alert to Nuvi1350

The easiest way is to use POI Loader in Manual (not Express) mode, then when you load the Rest Areas Combined, check the alerts and set a distance. For what it's worth, I use 15,000 feet for Rest Areas.

In addition to setting up the alert when you use Poi loader, you must also turn on the alerts in the 1350.
Go to Tools/Settings/Proximity Alerts/Alerts and put a check mark in "custom Pois".

all the existing Custom POI's on your GPS will be deleted. You must reload all the Custom POIs you want at the same time . There are some other methods but just reloading is the simplest. IMHO

My way is to rename the poi file in your gps after each poi load, this make it easy to to remove a list without deleting all custom poi. If you are new to this then follow above thread instructions.
