Can't find newly uploaded map

I just downloaded "Southern Africa" for an upcoming trip. The download was complete and successful. I wanted the download to go onto the micro SD card, but there were no specific instructions for this. The directions say to "view maps" on the Garmin but I can't actually see the SA maps. Will we only be able to see the map when we are in the country? Obviously I am a "newbie".
Try this
On your nuvi, touch Tools/Settings/Map/MapInfo. If you successfully loaded another map, you should see your City Navigator North America NT map as well as any additional maps you installed like southern Africa. You may need to uncheck the City Navigator NA NT to be able to see the Africa map displayed on your nuvi as well as confirm that the African map is checked--at least for me, I can't see my US topo maps until after I uncheck City Navigator.
Then, with just the African map checked, go back and view your nuvi screen. You may need to go into simulation mode and select a location in southern Africa to be able to see the map, roads, etc. Let us know how your fare. Be sure to recheck City Navigator North America NT to regain the ability to find your way around Michigan when you want to use the nuvi in North America.
