Cloudy out

Unfortunately, here in Northern Arizona, it was cloudy and we really couldn't see it that much. I set my clock, got up, looked out, and saw hardly nothing.

Eclipse

Missed it too. I guess I'll try again next time:

The next time a lunar eclipse will occur on the same day as the winter solstice will not be until 2094.

I'd use different terminology

Ditto!

Certainly right about it being worth it, MM!
Your photos are fantastic. Mind sharing with us what equipment you were using?

I borrowed my father in law's Canon SX10 and mine came out just ok. Not as sharp as yours even with a tripod & self timer.

For the next one (in another 372 years?).. don't wear tennis shoes if your'e going to be standing in the snow. rolleyes

I see it as a Nikon D3000. Exposure time 1/25, ISO 1600 at F5.6.

Got up at 3:30 EST. Bare

Got up at 3:30 EST. Bare feet on cold concrete isn't good either. Daughter got some great pixs, using a Panasonic DMC TZ1

Same cam as I have! They're pretty decent units, I have to say.

Here's how the SX10 did

Here's how the Canon SX10 did. I was surprised at how well the max 4x digital zoom turned out. Picasa doesn't show the exif data completely. The small ones were equiv to (35mm) 560mm and the big ones about 2000mm.

Yep. I got it free but I like it.

I was using a Tamrac 300mm zoom on a tripod and a remote to release the shutter.

The second picture was 1/2 second shutter speed.

Good price!!
