I was trying to meet my family at an Outback. Much to my surprise there were NO Outback's listed under "All Foods" in the OEM POI listings (Garmin Nuvi 1490T). Did Outback refuse to meet Garmin's listing price?

If you touch All Food it will only show the closest 50 restaurants(all types) to you.If you go to Steak/Grill it will narrow it down to that type of restaurant for search.If not showing there you can use spell at bottom of screen.I got Outbacks to come up under Steak/Grill because one is really close to me.Also pulled up using spell.

If you can't find Outback then meet at Logan's Roadhouse Grill, unlike Outback I never had a bad cut of beef and the prices are the same.

Interesting. I never really thought how a business got "listed" as a POI in a GPS unit. Companies pay to show up?
How much is the fee?

use my custom POI

If you're an Outback fan, you should download the Outback Steakhouse custom POI file that I maintain for POI Factory. The file currently contains all locations in the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and Guam; I'm planning to add the remaining international locations soon.

Where were you (city, state, etc.) when you were trying to meet your family? I can look up on MapSource to see if the Outback was pre-loaded or not.

Outbeak near me is listed

Checked in both Mapsource and my 260. Both show local Outback just spelling "Outback" !
And 49 others closest to me.

Thanks for the replies. I have noticed similar quirks with some other entities. For example, there is a large post office in Huntington Station / South Huntington, NY on Route 25. It does not show up at all on my 1490T. It is the main post office for the area, not a local finance station, but it is missing while the small finance stations show up. The zip is either 11743 or 11746.

Dave, the Outback in question is in Huntington, NY (the only one in the village).
