Mapsource Custom Icon Library

I do not know whether anyone has thought much on the subject. For example, if I want to find a local US Post Office, it is only a blip. What if it were the logo making it more easily identified? Same for gas stations, Denny's, baseball stadiums, et cetera. Sounds good to me.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Go to the Wawa POI, listed under the STORES category, for a good example of a logo icon.

If you've created any icon/bmps let Miss POI know so that she can catalog and store them in the 'icon library'.

I didn't get very far with my Custom Icons for my Street Pilot 2730. I created 64 custom icons and they display on the Mapsource software, but how do I transfer them to the 2730? I tried the "Transfer" and then "Send To Device", but none of the custom icons transferred over to the GPS.

Of course, I am assuming that I can download the custom icons to the device or is this just for the Mapsource software for use on the computer?

OK, so I haven't read a lot of posts and I am prety behind on stuff, but I have to say... Oh my goodness! There are sooo many Icons created! They are so cute! Ahhh.... Great work to everyone who created them. I love it!!

there are still a lot that have not gotten put up yet, I have been sick and have been slow this week.

I see that I missed some of the icons by making them too big.. If you want, I will look at all of the ones that I sent you to make sure they are at the proper size.. (24x24 or 16x16) Let me know what you would like me to do.. I have the software that I used to create them and wouldnt be TOO hard to correct.

Not a problem Bob, I got them all resized. I am starting to feel better, sometimes it is just nice to sit and zone out while working on organizing things on the site.

I would love to be a librarian, I wouldn't get much work done if I was in a building surrounded by books. I am a big time reader and would find that very distracting. It is hard for me to sit down and finish one book when I have so many great ones to read. Stephen King is my fav, I love the Horror/thriller and supernatural.

I've seen all of the great icons that are listed. What a terrific job all have done to make them!

However, not one suits my purpose

I have a poi file posted on the site (plug) Business Loading Dock Locations that I need an icon for. I have no idea of how to make one up and really don't desire or have the time to.

Can anyone direct me to something like a truck or loading dock icon that I can use?

p.s. I'm also working on a Sterling truck repair facility file. Not ready yet, but it'll be posted within a month or so.

Just sent an icon that I made to Miss POI. I hope it fits the bill.

I'm going to use the one Eighteen Wheeler made up. It's too bad that they can't be bigger to show more detail. I'd like to have an icon showing a truck backed up to a dock. But, that's a bit much to ask.
