Based on my earlier comments, and my wish list, I may need to step back one level and consider this unit. I'm posting this here in case anyone has experience on one of these units. They aren't too terribly expensive, but the thing that I truly like is that they have both Auto and Marine functions. That's what I've been looking for, rather than buying an expensive chart plotter for the boat and a separate GPS receiver for the car.
I haven't done much research on this model but preliminarily it seems to be robust enough for what I want, just not sure about how it handles POI's and/or Waypoints.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

I have a 376c I bought for my Harley. This unit and the 276 are pretty much the same with the big difference is the 376 is XM capable so I have weather with live nexrad radar at my finger tips. The 376 has 3000 waypoints/POI's you can put in. I think the 276 is the same. This unit very easy to use after you get the hang of it. The money I spent on this is worth the peace of mind I have when I am out on the bike and the weather changes in the blink of an eye. The nexrad image you get is nation wide, so you can zoom in on your route or destination and see the weather right now. Go to the Garmin website and compare the two side by side to see which one is best for you. FYI Best Buy carries the 376.
