Labor Day Trip

What's your plans for today? I'm heading toward Vancouver, BC from Seattle. It's a short less than 2 hours drive and Stanley Park, Canada Place to visit plus super markets for fresh tropical fruits. Will be back on the same day. The weather chill and cold outside.

How about your plans?

Where?

Staying close to home.

I'm in a major tourist area and traffic can get pretty bad on weekends and Holidays.

Labor Day

I just finished a trip to Indiana and back it all went well ,traffic was not an issue at all. Even the border crossing was very fast both ways,a very good trip and as always the people in the USA where most gracious.

Traveled out

Just returned from Alaska. Today, I am heading to the back yard to cook up some fresh caribou.

Labor Day Trip

I'm taking a trip to my couch for the day. I wonder if I'll need my GPS. Seems like I've been there before.

Just relaxing

It is nice to have the day off and spend with the family.

Hatch, NM

An over night trip to Hatch, NM for the Chili Festival. Came back with a trunk full of chilis and other produce!

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

Relax

Take it easy, clean up, work in the yard.

Chiles, not chili

Hatch is the self proclaimed Chile Capital of the World.

They mean chile peppers, not the dish called chili. Sorry for the misspelling.

BUT, I can see how a chili(e) festival POI file could be useful.

football, motorcycles, and BBQ

Took a ride from Lawrence to Manhattan to watch the KSU football game Saturday. Kind of an ugly game, but a win is a win.

Made the return trip on Sunday into a much longer affair, following squiggly lines through the flint hills with the zumo. Very relaxing, and beautiful weather if you don't mind a little wind.

Capped the long weekend with some BBQ in the backyard yesterday.

Couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Million Dollar Highway

Traveled the Million Dollar Highway into Ouray, Co. Did the hot mineral water soaks; drove part of a Scenic Byway; then into Telluride where their Film Festival was taking place. On the way home stopped where the Hatch green chiles were being roasted--no greater smell at this time of year.

Geocaching

My wife and I went geocaching on that day. I loaded up the caches on my GPSMAP 78s and also on the nüvi 760 and we checked out a bunch of back roads where we had never been before. It was a GREAT day. grin
